Spring Beauty Trends 2019

There is so much to look forward to as Spring has finally arrived! Put your winter coat away until next year and bring the beautiful and bright Spring wardrobe out. When it comes to make up we can start to feel fresher and more creative and the beauty runways are really starting to reflect that. Let’s enter the new season with a positive spring in our step (and in our makeup bag!).

Bushy Brows

Possibly my favourite beauty trend ever! Big bushy brows are back. Step away from the tweezers and embrace your brow au natural. Apply an eyebrow gloss or gel in an upward motion to create va va voom brows. Try Benefit 24 hour brow setter clear brow gel £21.50 for beautiful tamed brows that stay put all day.

Bold Lips

It’s all about the statement lip this season so put down the eye shadow palette and let your pout do all the talking. Be it coral, bright red or hot pink nothing can pick up your mood better than a bright lipstick. I love the Maybelline Color Sensational Made for all range £7.99, this lipstick has been tested on 50 different skin tones and provides a colour match chart so you can choose the one that’s right for you.

Bronze

Bronzer is back, move away from the contoured chiselled look of last season and instead lightly sweep over cheekbones for a fresh radiant glow. Think seventies style sun-kissed. Opt for the one bronzer that is never going away, Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder £26 for a natural glow and a matte finish with no shimmer or sparkle.

Love Pastel

Is there anything more perfect than pale sky blues, shell pinks and soft lilacs in Spring? Define eyes using Lancome’s Ombre Hypnose Mini Eyeshadow pencils which come in four flattering pastel hues, my favourite being Crispy Lavender £18.

If you don’t feel brave enough to wear a pastel eye colour, choose a pastel nail shade instead. Try Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail colour in Nuvola Rosa £20, it is the perfect ice cream pink that suits all skin tones.

A flush of blush

Even if you are not into an OTT blusher, a hint of blush can instantly lift the complexion. It can give a natural, fresh faced, dewy look to the skin and make you look Spring ready. When it comes to choosing a colour, rose and peach hues suit lighter skin tones and plums and tangerines will complement darker skins. Remember you only need a simple and light flush of colour, no Aunt Sally’s allowed! Try Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Cream £18 in shade Lilium for an everyday flush of colour, as the name says this product can also be used on the lips to create a pretty pastel makeup fix on the go.
